Spiritual Time Management

Me in a text, "Reminder, morning revival at 8am tomorrow morning"

A brothers reply, "I can't make it for tomorrow morning as I have two tests and the longest day for my classes, I need 15 minutes more rest"

Martin Luther, was once asked what his plan for the day was, he answered, "Work, work, from early until late. In fact, I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.”

Martin Luther took organized Christianity in his day, essentially beginning and keading the reformation, a spiritual revolution. Among many other things he translated the Bible into German, was a husband and a dad. He realized that he had to meet with God before he met with the cares of the day. He would not begin his work without first being refreshed by and in the Lord!

From the Recovery Version, Ephesians 6:18 By means of all prayer and petition, praying at every time in spirit and watching unto this... We must be watchful and not let our prayer life die! Take some time, first thing everyday to contact the Lord in prayer.

Hebron, my middle name...

Well looks like I'm gonna take a hack at having a blog, here goes nothing!

I thought I'd start with a question that people commonly ask me, "What does your middle name mean?" Well, it is a city in modern day Israel but I think my parents choose it more for the spiritual meaning. I was reading in the Recovery Version of the Bible which I got from Living Stream Ministry and found a great footnote.

"Genesis 35:27 After experiencing the deeper and more personal dealings, Jacob entered into full fellowship with God at Hebron (Hebron means fellowship, communion). Abraham had come to Shechem (12:6), had passed through Bethel (12:8), and had dwelt in Hebron (13:18; 18:1), and Isaac spent nearly his whole life in Hebron. Jacob followed Abraham’s footsteps to come to Shechem (33:18), to pass through Bethel (35:6), and to dwell in Hebron. In Hebron Jacob enjoyed full rest, joy, satisfaction, intimacy, and fellowship with the Lord. It was in Hebron that he began to mature in life."

I am always thankful for such a helpful note which reminds me about my parents view and burden for me. Just like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob I too would like to be a person who dwells in "Hebron" in order to reach a full and mature life.
